REGATTA - geometric wall mural with cream triangles on turquoise

Tall cream triangles stand on the turquoise like sails by a quay, while the right-hand side of the wall is left almost empty: just water and air. Thanks to that emptiness the design does not crowd the room – one part works while the other rests. The cracked, worn surface gives the whole thing the look of an old fresco.

What can you see in the design?

REGATTA is a geometric abstraction built from triangles. The tallest cream sail stands in the left part of the wall and reaches from the top edge to well below half the height. A second one, with its apex pointing to the top right corner, occupies the middle, and further cream areas lie beneath them. Between the sails the turquoise darkens to a deep, marine shade.

The right-hand third of the image is an almost uniform turquoise plane with pale worn patches near the edge. At half height a long, narrow cream wedge pointing to the right cuts into it, with a band of gold in a warm, coppery shade. A second accent in the same coppery gold, narrow and vertical, stands in the left part close to the edge, and a third, small one you will find right in the middle of the wall. The cracks and worn patches are part of the image, not the texture of the wall.

You can easily tell this design from PAPER PRISM and HARBOUR COLLAGE: here the triangles stand upright, like sails, the right-hand side is empty, and what little gold there is has a coppery tone.

Which room does it suit?

In an entrance hall or hallway the empty turquoise part on the right works like a view into the distance, and the sails fall above a low bench. Light wood, a cream cushion and a single brass lamp are enough.

In a dining room, place a long table parallel to the wall. With the full crop, the wedge with the coppery band falls at the eye level of people sitting at the table. Bleached oak, linen and glass suit this palette better than dark, heavy furniture.

In an office, a design studio or a café, the wedge-shaped forms bring to mind technical drawing and sailing at the same time. From a few metres away the whole rhythm of the triangles reads clearly; up close, you see the cracks and worn patches.

How do you choose the size and material?

This teal triangle wall mural is made as a single image printed to the size of your wall; you set the width, height, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. The full crop has a 16:9 ratio: at a height of 260 cm that is about 462 cm of width, of which the sails take up the left-hand 320 cm or so and the calm turquoise the right-hand 140 cm or so. The tallest sail is then about 175 cm tall and the cream wedge about 185 cm long. On a shorter wall you choose between a denser crop from the left and a calmer one from the right.

For this design first consider Mura Vinyl Intonaco: the structural texture of trowelled plaster matches the look of an old fresco and strengthens it on a large hall or dining-room wall. Mura Vinyl Canvas, with the texture of natural canvas, is the most versatile and moves the design towards an easel painting – choose it when you view the wall up close. The alternatives are Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced coarse sand grain texture (it is neither smooth nor satin), and Mura Natur – an eco-friendly non-woven, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic, on which the large turquoise area stays even and quiet.

How can you buy safely?

The turquoise on the right covers a large, uniform area, so the whole room depends on its shade. Order a sample from the product page – a print of about 90 × 50 cm, on one or two materials – and check it on your own wall. We dispatch samples within 1–3 working days. Pay attention to how the colour and the texture of the material look next to your floor and doors.

An AI visualisation on a photo of your own room is available on the product page, and you make it yourself; we prepare a studio visualisation on request within 1–2 working days. You can also ask the studio to adapt the composition, colours and crop – for example when a door falls where the sails are. Orders are usually completed in 3–7 working days, and the mural is produced with eco-friendly, certified printing. We ship it free of charge to Poland and other European countries, and outside Europe at the rate shown in the basket. We also arrange installation anywhere in Europe, on request and with an individual quote.

All the designs in this series are in the Turquoise and Gold collection; we also show similar geometric and painterly compositions in the Abstraction collection.
