RIME BOUGHS - pale misty forest wall mural for hotels and spas

A pale mist with white branches showing through pushes the wall back and quietens the room. Cool grey-blue above and warm sand below create a calm in which the eye can rest – like a winter morning at the edge of a forest. This wall does not impose a single focal point; instead, it spreads light across its entire width.

What does the design show?

The upper half of the image is filled with pale grey-blue, while the centre stays open, with a distant, warm glow of sand. On the left of the image stand several slender trees in a shade of creamy beige – they barely emerge from the mist. The entire right half belongs to the brightest, snow-white trees with dense, lacy crowns. The tallest white trunk stands at the right edge and reaches the top, so on a wall 260 cm high it measures about 260 cm. The bottom is filled with warm sand with white patches and a fine network of cracks, like old plaster; it is most distinct on the left and fades into white mist at the bottom edge. On a wall 260 cm high, the whole image is about 460 cm wide, and the lacy crowns on the right take up roughly the upper half, or about 130 cm. Up close you can see a meticulous illustration of fine twigs; from a distance, a soft patch of light.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a hotel suite, this misty woodland wall mural behind the headboard gives guests a calm view that does not compete with the interior. It suits interiors with pale wood, wool and linen, in a Scandinavian or Japandi style. In a spa-style bathroom with stone and teak, the mist above and the sand below echo the colours of natural materials. In a study where you look at the wall for many hours, the light, low-contrast composition does not distract and pairs well with ash, oak and frosted glass. The design is at its best in diffused daylight: the white of the trees then stands out from the background and the sand gains depth. With low furniture, the whole group of white trees on the right stays in view.

How do I choose the size and material?

The design is one large image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page – on a narrower wall you can shift the crop to keep the white trunk at the right edge or the cream trees on the left. As main materials we recommend Mura Vinyl Canvas with a natural canvas texture, the most versatile option, which emphasises the softness of the mist, and Mura Vinyl Intonaco with a trowelled plaster texture – structured, it echoes the cracks in the sandy lower part of the image. Alternatives are Mura Vinyl Sabbia with a pronounced coarse sand grain texture, neither smooth nor satin, which up close enhances the grainy lower part of the design, and Mura Natur – an eco-friendly matt non-woven, odourless and hypoallergenic, on which the white of the branches stays soft. On a wall viewed from about a metre away, for example in a bathroom, the plaster and sand textures will be clearly visible.
