SANDSTONE STRATA - cream ginkgo leaf wall mural for a bedroom

Layers of pale leaves lie one upon another here like bands of sandstone, and above them a calm, cream strip of background is left. This arrangement resembles a horizon and quietens the wall behind the bed: the rust line gives it warmth, but does not draw the eye so strongly as to disturb rest.

What can you see in the design?

The background is a pale cream with a delicate texture resembling linen. The most distinct is a single ginkgo leaf at the top, in the left part of the middle, drawn in a dense rust line and turned with its fan upwards; on a wall 260 cm high it is about 130 cm tall and about 175 cm wide. On the left and right sides of the image, higher up, stand large, pale leaves marked with just a thin outline. The lower half is filled with wide, cream leaves with wavy, horizontal veins in white and pale sand, layered like sedimentary rock or dunes. In the bottom left corner, low on the right and by the right edge, leaves with a rust drawing emerge from beneath them, cut off by the edges of the image. The upper band of background stays almost empty, so there is plenty of calm space above the leaves.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a bedroom the rust leaf will sit above the headboard, and the wavy cream layers will partly hide behind the bed, so what remains above the bed is mainly the pale background and calm lines. The design goes with bedding in oat and sand, a rust-coloured blanket and wide boards of chestnut or oak. In a study with a walnut desk and a cognac-coloured leather armchair, the rust in the design picks up the wood, and the pale background does not darken the room when you work. In an entrance hall with a narrow console and a bench, SANDSTONE STRATA can be seen almost in full from the door; pale limestone or travertine on the floor repeats the cream of the background. It also suits a living room with a linen sofa, rattan and woven pieces, where beige fabrics blend with the sandy layers of leaves.

How do you choose the size and material?

SANDSTONE STRATA is a single image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page; at a height of 260 cm the full image is about 460 cm wide. On the shorter wall behind the bed, set the crop so that the rust leaf stands above the middle of the headboard or slightly to the left of it.
