STILL CLEARING - tall reeds wall mural for the bedroom

Tall reeds in loose clumps fill the wall almost from floor to ceiling, and yet the room feels quieter. The grey-olive plumes blur into the misty background, so no single point on the wall draws the eye. It becomes a soft backdrop for a bed, a bookcase or an armchair.

What does the design show?

Tall reed plumes grow in several groups. The first stands by the left edge, the second in the left part of the image, and the third, the tallest, in the centre – it reaches all the way to the top edge. On the right side of the image a wide group spreads out and completes the composition. Between the clumps, in the lower centre, a light, misty clearing remains. Try to leave it uncovered when you arrange your furniture. The plumes are soft, feathery and gently leaning.

The plants are grey-olive. The background shifts from a darker taupe grey at the top to a lighter, warm grey at the bottom. The entire surface is covered with a finely crinkled texture reminiscent of embossed paper – it is part of the image itself. On a wall 260 cm high, the image is about 4.6 m wide. The central clump is then about 260 cm tall, the others about 220–230 cm, and a single plume about 50–80 cm long.

Which interiors does it suit?

In the bedroom, the warm grey of the lower part of the image pairs well with linen bedding, light oak and beige. The darker top calms the wall in the evening glow of a bedside lamp. A low bed will hide only the thin lower stems, while the plumes stay visible above the headboard.

In a library or study with dark walnut or oak, this tall reeds wall mural brightens the wall between the bookcases without introducing a new colour. The cognac leather of an armchair and the brass of a lamp look good against the taupe. In a hotel lobby or living room, a wall around 4.6 m wide will show all the clumps together with the clearing. How do you choose the size and material?

STILL CLEARING is one large image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. On a narrower wall, choose a crop with the tallest clump in the centre and part of the light clearing beside it.

The main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas and Mura Vinyl Intonaco. Canvas has a natural canvas texture and is the most versatile. Its delicate weave blends with the crinkled background and does not compete with the thin stalks. Intonaco has a trowelled plaster texture: in side light from a window it deepens the mistiness of the background and gives the wall a more pronounced structure. As an alternative, consider Mura Vinyl Sabbia with its distinct coarse sand grain texture. This material is neither smooth nor satin, so the plumes will take on a grainy quality. Choose it where you view the wall from several metres away, for example in a lobby. Mura Natur is an eco-friendly, matt and odourless non-woven. The absence of sheen emphasises the softness of the misty background.

Before you order the whole wall, order a sample: a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials. You order it from the product page, and we ship it within 1–3 working days.
