STILL GLADE - misty glade wall mural with white trees for dining rooms

White trunks stand at the sides like stage wings, while the centre of the wall opens into pale mist, deep into the glade. This layout visually pushes the wall back and leaves a calm space behind a table, a bed or a desk. The warm, sandy lower part ties the image to the wood and linen in the room.

What does the design show?

The motif is a misty glade seen from the edge of the forest. On the left of the image stands a wide, dense group of slender white trunks with thin, lacy branches; by the right edge, a narrower one. Between them lies open, pale blue-grey mist, and within it the blurred, warm crowns of distant trees. The lower half of the image is deep sand shading into ochre, darkest in the bottom left corner. Low down, to the right of centre, a patch of flaking plaster is visible, and along the bottom edge, in the centre and on the right, there are dense white scuffs and tiny specks like cracked paint. The whole has a painterly character, with a texture reminiscent of old plaster. On a wall 260 cm high, the image is about 460 cm wide, the trunks run almost the full height, and a single trunk is about 2–4 cm wide. The left group of trees takes up about 180 cm, the right about 80 cm.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a dining room, the open mist sits above the table, while the trees frame it on both sides. Ochre and sand pair well with walnut, oak and linen-upholstered chairs; a low sideboard will cover only the calm, misty lower part. In a bedroom, the light palette behind the headboard brings calm to the wall, and with a low bed the whole forest and the grey sky remain visible – it suits whitewashed oak and ivory bedding. In a home office, the image provides a backdrop with no single point to draw the eye while you work. Stylistically, this misty forest glade wall mural sits closest to japandi, wabi-sabi and Scandinavian simplicity, where the worn plaster echoes raw materials.

How do I choose the size and material?

The main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas, with a natural canvas weave, the most versatile, which keeps the thin branches crisply drawn when you look from close up, for example from the bed. The second is Mura Vinyl Intonaco, with a trowelled plaster texture, a structured finish that enhances the flaking patch and the white scuffs at the bottom, legible from the far end of the dining room. As an alternative, consider Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced coarse sand grain (it is neither smooth nor satin), which will bring out the warm lower part on a wall viewed from several metres away, or Mura Natur – an eco-friendly, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic non-woven, on which the pale mist looks calmest.
