All have simplified, round faces, large eyes, and rosy cheeks, without sharp contours. The lower band of the composition is filled with grasses, white daisies, orange flowers, and red toadstools, with a low stump in the center and a bright surface of water behind it. The background features slender trunks and a misty, pale light filtering through the tree canopies. The strokes are visibly brush-like: leaves and grasses are applied with short, irregular strokes, while the sky and mist are rendered with soft glazes.

There is no repeating pattern — it is a single scene that should be scaled so that the animals are roughly at eye level for a child.
