TIDEPOOL - ginkgo wall mural in beige and turquoise

A warm grey-beige morning by the water: large, pale ginkgo fans show through a misty turquoise, and the lower part of the wall looks like an old wall with flaking paint. The beige softens the cool blue, so the image calms a room without chilling it. The wall becomes a backdrop for low furniture rather than a rival to it.

What can you see in the design?

The motif is ginkgo leaves on thin stems, in two kinds. The white ones are drawn with a dense network of fine vein lines, while the sand-beige ones are translucent, so the background shows through them. The largest white fan stands in the middle of the image, with further white ones in the left part, by the left edge and in the top right corner. The beige leaves rise high on the left side of the image and to the right of centre.

The top is filled with a warm grey-beige with subtle scuffing, the middle band turns into a misty, pale turquoise, and the bottom quarter is taken by thickly applied cream paint that peels in flakes and exposes the turquoise. This effect is printed, not real chipped paint. On a wall 260 cm high, the largest fans are about 75 cm tall and over a metre wide, and the cream band at the bottom reaches up about 70 cm. With leaves this large, the design reads clearly even from the far end of the room.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a living room the image fills the wall behind a low sofa: the backrest hides only part of the cream band, while the fans stay fully visible above it. The beige of the background goes with oat-coloured linen, travertine, pale limestone and walnut, and you can echo the turquoise in a single cushion or in celadon ceramics. In a bedroom, choose a low bed without a tall headboard and bedding in shades of sand and turquoise. In a study, large leaves above a wooden desk and a cognac leather armchair make a calm backdrop for work. The worn texture suits wabi-sabi, Japandi and Mediterranean styles, and in a north-facing room the grey-beige top of the image will warm the cool light.

How do you choose the size and material?

You order one large image printed to the size of your wall. You enter the width and height in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page, and then set the crop. At a height of 260 cm the full image is about 460 cm wide; on a narrower wall, decide whether the crop should include the large white fan from the middle or the beige leaves from the left side of the image.

The main materials are Mura Vinyl Canvas, with the texture of natural canvas, the most versatile, which adds softness to the worn top, and Mura Vinyl Intonaco, with the texture of trowelled plaster – a structured material that, in raking light, strengthens the impression of an old wall in the cream band. An alternative is Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced coarse sand grain, neither smooth nor satin, for a large wall viewed from a few metres away. You can also choose Mura Natur, an eco-friendly non-woven – matt, odourless and hypoallergenic – on which the fine vein lines stay crisp.

Before you order a whole wall, order a sample from the product page: a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, which we ship in 1–3 working days. Hold it next to the sofa or bed and check how the beige and turquoise look in your light and what texture the chosen material has. You can create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room yourself on the product page; on request we will also prepare a studio visualisation in 1–2 working days. On request, the studio will adjust the composition, colours and crop, for example by moving the largest leaf above the centre of the bed.
