TULLE - beige wall mural with ginkgo leaves for a dining room

A warm, apricot ground and enormous leaves that look like layers of thin tulle give the wall the softness of fabric. The cream mesh of lines brightens the room, and the darker band of leaves by the floor gives the composition a solid base. This is a design for interiors where you meet people: for a dining room, a hotel lobby or a living room with a single armchair.

What can you see in the design?

The ground is apricot-beige, with a delicate grid that in print resembles a fine fabric, and by the bottom edge it turns into olive green, most strongly in the lower right corner. The upper and middle part of the image is filled with large, translucent ginkgo leaves built from a dense mesh of cream lines, into which pale mint strokes are woven. On the left of the image stands one cluster of leaves, in the right half a second, larger one, and low in the middle a smaller leaf with a curled edge. From all of them long, thin stalks fall downwards. Along the bottom edge, from left to right, runs a row of leaves outlined in dark sea green, densely veined and less translucent than the cream ones.

This is a large-scale design. On a wall 260 cm high the largest cream leaves are about 190 cm wide and about 140 cm high, so they take up roughly half the height of the wall. The band of sea-green leaves reaches about 80–100 cm up from the floor.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a dining room a round table placed in the middle of the room leaves the whole upper part of the wall uncovered, and the chair backs hide in the dark band of leaves. Turquoise upholstery, amber glass and smoked oak repeat the colours of the design. In a hotel lobby or restaurant room the wide composition with no single main motif fills a long wall evenly, from corner to corner, so you do not have to worry about which fragment ends up behind the armchairs. In a living room with cognac leather, travertine and pale limestone the apricot ground warms a room with north-facing windows. The design suits modernism, Art Deco and warm minimalism.

How do you choose the size and material?

TULLE is made as one image printed to the size of your wall, so you set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. At a height of 260 cm the full composition is about 4.6 m wide. The leaves are spread evenly along the whole length, so even a narrow wall, about 2 m, will get almost a whole large leaf with its stalk and a fragment of the sea-green band at the bottom.

For this mesh of lines we recommend two main materials. Mura Vinyl Canvas has the texture of natural canvas and is the most versatile; its weave blends with the fine grid of the ground, so the whole wall resembles fabric. Mura Vinyl Intonaco has the structured texture of trowelled plaster, which in the light from a window emphasises the layers of overlapping leaves. An alternative is Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced coarse sand grain, neither smooth nor satin, good for large, grand interiors viewed from a distance, and Mura Natur – an eco-friendly non-woven, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic, on which the cream lines look most delicate.

This is a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, which we ship in 1–3 working days; hold it against the wall next to the wood of the table and the chair upholstery.
