TURQUOISE WEFT - ginkgo wall mural with a woven texture for a hall

The large ginkgo leaves look here like a fine pen drawing laid over a watercolour, and the bottom of the wall turns into a worn texture reminiscent of a coarse fabric weave. A hall or study gets a pale, mint background with saturated turquoise in the middle and a warm, sandy accent by the floor.

What can you see in the design?

The leaves spread in a wide band across the upper two thirds of the image. At the top, on the left and right sides of the image, stand the largest, pale, almost white-blue fans; beneath them, in the left part and to the right of centre, appear leaves in saturated turquoise. Each leaf is covered with dense hatching of radiating veins, and the outline is a thin line in the colour of sandy gold. In the lower part, from the middle to the right side of the image, the background turns into a worn texture in turquoise and sandy beige, with rectangular patches and a mesh like coarse fabric. On the left side of the image, by the bottom edge, you see only small, sandy scuffs and hanging stalks. The background is very pale, mint blue.

On a wall 260 cm high, the pale leaves at the top are about 1.3 m wide, and the band with the fabric texture rises from the bottom edge to about 1 m.

Which interiors does it suit?

Hall and entrance hall. From the front door you see the whole wall, and the texture in the bottom right corner resembles a piece of fabric and warms the entrance. Leave free space in front of it, and place a low bench and console closer to the left side; the design suits pale terrazzo, walnut and sisal.

Study. At a desk you sit close to the wall, so the fine hatching of the veins and the sand-gold outlines are visible. Turquoise looks good with dark oak, cognac leather and grey wool.

Living room. The sandy gold ties the design to linen, rattan and pale wood, and leaves wider than the seat of a sofa give the wall scale without overwhelming the room. It is a good backdrop for a light, natural interior in beiges.

How do you choose the size and material?

TURQUOISE WEFT is one large image, printed to the size of your wall. You choose the crop, size and material in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. A hall can be narrow: on a wall narrower than about 4.6 m (at a height of 260 cm), check in the crop preview whether the worn texture on the right side of the image stays in, because it is what sets this design apart from an ordinary watercolour.
