UNDERCURRENT - abstract ginkgo wall mural for a living room

Cream ginkgo leaves gather in the middle of the wall, and from the right side of the image a current of wavy lines in cream and cinnamon runs downwards, like a stream beneath the surface of water. The design combines a plant motif with abstraction and gives a living room or office movement without sharp contrasts.

What can you see in the design?

The ground is sage and mint, with an olive patch at the top above the middle and distressed areas on the left. In the middle of the image stands a group of cream leaves drawn with a thin, dense line: the largest fan takes up the very centre, and a second, smaller one opens above it, slightly to the right. On the left, high and low, lie large, translucent leaves in pale green, which almost merge with the ground.

From the upper right downwards flow wide, wavy bands of cream and cinnamon lines; in the lower right corner they join in a pale stream. From the leaves to the left, along the lower half, thin cream threads spread out. On a wall 260 cm high the image is about 4.6 m wide, and the largest leaf in the middle is about 165 cm wide and about 145 cm high.

Which interiors does it suit?

Living room. The cinnamon lines go with a sofa in rust or cinnamon velvet, travertine and pale concrete – this is how the living room setting is furnished in a modernist 1970s concrete house with a glass wall onto the garden. Place a lamp beneath the pale stream on the right.

Office. The abstract bands are calmer than a distinct drawing and do not pull the eye away from the conversation, while walnut, cognac leather and brass pick up the warm accents of the design. A desk placed parallel to the wall leaves the group of leaves above the head of the person sitting.

Restaurant. Above a long banquette against the wall the leaves can be seen from every table, and the warm light of small lamps brings out the cream and cinnamon.

How do you choose the size and material?

We print UNDERCURRENT as a single image to the size of your wall; you choose the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. On a wall narrower than about 4.6 m, decide whether to keep the pale stream on the right or the translucent leaves on the left – the group in the middle stays in the crop in both variants.

• Mura Vinyl Canvas – the texture of natural canvas, the most versatile; the fine weave does not blur the thinnest lines of the leaves.
• Mura Vinyl Intonaco – the structured texture of trowelled plaster; in the distressed areas of the ground on the left it looks like plaster brushed with paint.
• Mura Vinyl Sabbia – an alternative with a pronounced coarse sand grain, neither smooth nor satin; in a restaurant viewed from a few metres away the grain brings the wide bands of lines to life.
• Mura Natur – an alternative: eco-friendly, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic non-woven; the matt finish keeps the subtle differences between cream and cinnamon.

How can you buy with confidence?

To begin with, order a sample from the product page: a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, which we ship in 1–3 working days. Put it next to the sofa or desk and see whether the cinnamon goes with the leather, wood and fabrics, and how the texture of the material looks in your light. On the product page you can create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room yourself; on request the DECOMURA team will prepare a studio visualisation in 1–2 working days. On request the studio can also adjust the composition, colours and crop to the interior, for example by strengthening the cinnamon bands. Orders are usually completed in 3–7 working days, we ship them free of charge to Poland and other European countries, and on request we arrange installation across Europe, with an individual quote.

In the Sage Silk collection you will find more ginkgo leaves with silky bands flowing through them, and among the living room wall murals other designs for the wall behind a sofa. For an office or restaurant project, a consultation with the DECOMURA studio will help.
