VERDIGRIS - pale blue wall mural with ginkgo for a bedroom

Clumps of see-through ginkgo leaves float in the upper and middle part of the wall like jellyfish in calm water, trailing long, thin threads downwards. In the middle and on the right side of the image, a large area of pale blue is left beneath them, so you can place a bed or a bath there without covering the clumps, and the room keeps its lightness and plenty of light.

What can you see in the design?

The widest band of leaves runs from the top left corner of the image through the middle towards the right side. A separate clump hangs lower by the left edge, and by the right edge stands a pale leaf drawn almost entirely as an outline. The fans are turquoise, sea-coloured and icy white, with a lilac tinge by the top edge. At the base of each clump is a rust-copper patch, and the edges and veins are outlined with thin lines in the colour of gold.

Long stalks and threads fall from the leaves, in several places almost to the bottom edge. The background is smooth and pale blue; the bottom right corner and the lower band in the middle stay almost empty. On a wall 260 cm high, the upper band of leaves is about 3.6 m long, a single clump about 1.5 m wide, and beneath the rust-coloured heart of the central clump about 70 cm of blue remains with only thin stalks.

Which interiors does it suit?

Bedroom. The pale blue and turquoise quieten the room, and the rust-coloured hearts of the leaves can be echoed in a wool throw or a cushion. A low bed with pale blue and white bedding will stand beneath the threads without covering the leaves. The room setting in the gallery shows it in a modernist house in Helsinki, with a birch floor and a walnut cabinet.

Hotel suite. Above a wide bed in a boutique hotel, the design fills the wall across its full width, and pale marble, white bedding and a bench in powder blue pick up its cool colours. The room setting shows such a suite in a nineteenth-century palace in Seville.

Bathroom. A freestanding bath with a low tap will fit in the empty lower part of the image, and turquoise evokes water. White hexagonal marble and towels in pale turquoise complete the picture.

How do you choose the size and material?

VERDIGRIS is one large image, which we print to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. At a height of 260 cm the full image is about 4.6 m wide. If the wall is narrower, you can keep the main band of leaves in the crop and leave out the outlined leaf by the right edge.

• Mura Vinyl Canvas – the texture of natural canvas, the most versatile; the weave shows through the see-through layers of the leaves and suits a bedroom, where the wall is seen up close.
• Mura Vinyl Intonaco – a structured material with a trowelled plaster texture; in a hotel with lime plaster and marble it gives the smooth blue the look of an old wall.
• Mura Vinyl Sabbia – available as an alternative: a pronounced coarse sand grain, neither smooth nor satin; the grain is most visible when light falls from the side on a large, empty part of the background.
• Mura Natur – available as an alternative: an eco-friendly, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic non-woven; the matt finish keeps the thin gold-coloured and rust-coloured lines crisp.

How can you buy with confidence?

Pale blue looks different in a north-facing room than in a sunny one, so first order a sample from the product page. It is a print of about 90 × 50 cm on one or two materials, shipped in 1–3 working days, on which you can check the colours and the texture of the material at home next to your bedding, marble or wood. You can create an AI visualisation on a photo of your own room yourself on the product page; for a hotel project or a larger interior, we will prepare a studio visualisation on request in 1–2 working days. On request, the studio will adapt the composition, colours and crop of the design to your interior, for example by lowering the leaves or changing the shade of the background. Orders are usually completed in 3–7 working days, shipping within Poland and Europe is free, and on request we arrange installation across Europe after an individual quote.

We have gathered all the ginkgo designs in blue and turquoise in the Azure Drift collection, and other designs for above a bed you will find in the bedroom wall murals collection. For a hotel project, book a consultation with the studio.
