WEATHERED COPSE - misty forest plaster-effect mural for living rooms

With this misty forest wall mural, your wall becomes a bright, hazy copse in which white trunks emerge from a warm, sandy background. The brightest trees do not form a sharp contrast with the background, so the image both brightens the room and quietens it. Cracks like those on old plaster lend the wall a sense of age, while the mist at the bottom softly envelops the furniture standing in front of it.

What does the design show?

The motif is a misty grove of slender white trees with thin, branching, leafless crowns. The brightest and tallest group stands to the right of the centre of the image: a single straight white trunk runs from the bottom to the top edge, so on a wall 260 cm high it measures about 260 cm. More sparsely spaced trees grow along the right edge. The left side of the image is warmer and darker, with pale, almost translucent trunks, and in the lower left quarter you can see distinct cracks like those on old plaster. At the top, to the left of centre, there is a vertical grey streak. The background shifts from warm sand to pale grey-blue towards the top, and the bottom edge dissolves into white mist. The ivory and white of the branches create no sharp contrasts, which is why the trees look like a delicate drawing on a plaster texture.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a japandi or quiet luxury living room, the sandy background echoes linen, travertine and light oak, while the white of the trunks picks up the pale walls nearby. The tallest cluster of trees stands to the right of centre, so place a sofa or armchair in front of the warmer left section and leave the right side unobstructed. In a restaurant, the image is a backdrop that does not compete with the tables: cream bench upholstery and linen tablecloths blend with its tones, and in warm evening light the sandy lower part of the wall appears deeper. In an entrance hall, which usually holds only a narrow console and a bench, the tall trunks are visible almost in full, so the wall makes the space feel taller. You will see the most plaster detail in daylight falling from the side.

How do I choose the size and material?

WEATHERED COPSE is a single image printed to the size of your wall. You set the size, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. On a wall 260 cm high, the full image is about 460 cm wide; on a narrower wall, choose a section, and if the brightest cluster of trees matters to you, move the crop to the right of centre.

• Mura Vinyl Canvas – a natural canvas weave, the most versatile material; the fine weave softens the transitions of the mist, which you notice when viewing the wall from the sofa, at a distance of 2–3 metres.
• Mura Vinyl Intonaco – a trowelled plaster texture, a structured material; it echoes the cracks and worn patches in the design, so the old-wall effect is strongest up close, for example in a hallway you pass at a distance of a metre.
• As an alternative: Mura Vinyl Sabbia – a pronounced coarse sand grain texture; the material is neither smooth nor satin, and the grain accentuates the sandy background in side light; Mura Natur – an eco-friendly matt non-woven, odourless and hypoallergenic, on which the pale branches do not shine next to a large window.

Hold it against the wall during the day and in the evening to see how the warm sand and white look next to your fabrics, and which texture you prefer.
