WINDBLOWN GINKGO - wall mural with ginkgo leaves in the wind

A gust of wind caught on a wall: ginkgo leaves on long, curved stems lean in different directions, and behind them flows a sea blue with vertical brush streaks. The restless arrangement brings a large wall to life, and the pale, cream lower part keeps the whole composition light.

What can you see in the design?

The stems are long, curved and branching, and the ginkgo leaves tilt now to the left, now to the right, as if the wind were moving them. The fans are sand-beige and white: some are drawn with fine vein lines, others are covered with opaque, worn white. They are spread evenly from the left edge to the right, and several white leaves reach down low, right into the cream lower part on the left side of the image. The arrangement is loose and irregular, without a single row.

The background moves from a cool, greenish grey-blue at the top into a deep, sea-blue band with vertical brush streaks, and the bottom is cream-beige with sandy scuffs. On a wall 260 cm high, a fan is about 35 cm tall and 60–65 cm wide, the cream band takes up about 65 cm, and the few lowest white leaves on the left side of the image already lie within this band.

Which interiors does it suit?

In a dining room, the movement of the leaves contrasts well with the calm of the table: a round birch top, Gustavian-style chairs in pale grey and light floorboards make a Scandinavian ensemble with the image. In a restaurant, the design suits round tables with white tablecloths, bentwood chairs and blue tableware; if the chairs stand right against the wall, move the crop so that the low white leaves on the left side of the image stay visible. In a dressing room, the image behind a turquoise velvet pouffe and a light oak table on a brass base turns the wall into a calm backdrop for trying on clothes. It suits Scandinavian style, Art Nouveau townhouses and bright interiors with wood.

How do you choose the size and material?

The design is one image printed to the size of your wall, and you set its size and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. At a height of 260 cm the full image is about 460 cm wide. Because the leaves are spread evenly, every section looks similarly dense, so on a feature wall about 2 m wide you can move the crop freely.

Mura Vinyl Intonaco, a structured material with the texture of trowelled plaster, will emphasise the vertical brush streaks in the sea-blue band. The most versatile is Mura Vinyl Canvas, with the texture of natural canvas, which softens the scuffs in the cream lower part. The alternatives remain Mura Vinyl Sabbia – a pronounced coarse sand grain, neither smooth nor satin – which suits a large room viewed from afar, and Mura Natur, an eco-friendly non-woven, matt, odourless and hypoallergenic, on which the thin stems look delicate.
