WINDSWEPT MANE - white horse wallpaper mural with flowing mane

The mane takes up half the wall: cream strands fly to the left like a wave, and from the right a calm profile of a white horse emerges from them. The interior gains movement and the warmth of ochre, yet in light, soft colours.

What can you see in the design?

WINDSWEPT MANE is a close view of a white horse in profile, facing right. The head fills the right half of the image: the ear almost touches the top edge, the dark eye is a little above half the height, and the grey muzzle is low on the right. A lush, cream mane streams to the left and takes up the whole upper left part; beneath it you can see the neck and the start of the chest with patches of ochre and grey. The background on the right, behind the muzzle, consists of rectangular patches of cream, white and ochre. The paint looks very thick, as if laid on with a palette knife in short, raised strokes, which in the mane arrange themselves like feathers. This is the largest head among the light portraits of the collection: on a wall 260 cm high with the full crop (about 460 cm wide) it measures about 215 cm from ear to muzzle, and the muzzle ends about 30 cm above the floor.

Which interior does it suit?

This is a design for adults. In a living room with a pale stone floor, place a long, low sofa in front of the left half of the wall, under the mane; the right half with the horse's head should stay empty down to the floor, because the muzzle comes down very low. In a bedroom the same rule applies: a low bed with cream bedding and a bench in ochre stand on the left, and the horse looks towards the window or the door. In a dressing room or a hotel room, a pouffe and a low chest of drawers under the mane are enough, and up close you see the whole texture of the strokes.

How does it differ from ALABASTER PROFILE?

Both designs are a profile of a white horse with a flowing mane. Here the horse looks to the right, the crop is tighter, and the palette is cream, with ochre. In ALABASTER PROFILE the horse looks to the left, the head is smaller, and there is more grey in the background. Choose the one in which the horse turns towards the inside of the room, not towards the corner.

How do you choose the size and material?

This wallpaper mural, a white horse with a mane across half the wall, is a single image printed to size. You specify the dimensions, material and crop in the “Calculate price and order” configurator on the product page. On a wall narrower than about 4.6 m (at a height of 260 cm), move the crop to the right edge of the image and shorten the mane on the left, so that the ear and muzzle stay whole.

You check the colour by ordering a sample: a print of about 90 × 50 cm, on one or two materials, available from the product page, and we dispatch it within 1–3 working days. On it you will see the cream, the ochre and the texture of the material in your own light. If the horse is to look left, or there is to be less ochre, the studio will adapt the composition, colours and crop on request.
