Collection: Ginkgo Mist

Ginkgo leaves in cream, white, beige and pale peach, immersed in a painterly and watercolour mist: Ginkgo Mist is twenty-one pale images for the wall. They are united by a calm, neutral palette and worn backgrounds in ivory, beige and pale grey. How do you choose a design from this collection?

• Decide how much background to leave. The sprig in NECTAR SPRIG, the bouquet in CHAMOIS POSY and the cascade in CHANTILLY leave a large, pale expanse for furniture. If you prefer an even pattern across the whole wall, choose TAUPE MUSLIN, WHITE LATTICE or OYSTER FLURRY.
• Match the scale of the leaves to the room. The large fans in OYSTER FLURRY, DOVE LANTERNS, MERINGUE or CAMEO are best viewed from a few steps away, for example in a living room. Small leaves on tall stems in FLUTTER, LACEWORK and OVERCAST form a pale meadow that also suits a smaller bedroom.
• Check the background colour. Cream and beige backgrounds, as in SUMI STEMS, UPDRAFT or MERINGUE, will warm a north-facing room. The pale grey-blue sky in BILLOW, the sage one in LACEWORK and the grey in OVERCAST bring a cooler note to a sunny interior.
• Think about the furniture in front of the wall. When a bed, sofa or table will stand in front of the design, choose one with a misty bottom and leaves high up, such as SUMI STEMS, NOVEMBER FOG or DOVE LANTERNS – the furniture will then cover mainly the mist.
• Choose the material. The main ones are Mura Vinyl Canvas, with the texture of natural canvas, and Mura Vinyl Intonaco, with the texture of trowelled plaster; as alternatives you have Mura Vinyl Sabbia, with a pronounced coarse sand grain, and the matt non-woven Mura Natur.
